Why haven't I heard of FireFly Energy before?
You may not have heard of FireFly Energy because we do not send sales representatives knocking on your door, nor do we practice phone solicitations.
What types of customers does FireFly Energy serve?
We serve all types of customers; residential, business, industrial and commercial.
Our specialty is developing energy programs specifically designed for agricultural operations and businesses.
The majority of our customers are farmers, running operations ranging from dairy and poultry to beef. Many run crop based operations such as tobacco and vegetables.
We believe that farmers and business owners have unique concerns so we tailor our energy programs to meet these concerns.

What is FireFly Energy's track record in supplying energy?
FireFly is a division of Ag Energy Co-operative, which has been supplying natural gas to large agricultural operations in Ontario since 1988. Neither FireFly nor Ag Energy Co-operative has ever failed to deliver all required gas to its customers and their utilities.

How do you secure your energy?
We buy our energy from the largest suppliers in both the US and Canada. These are reliable sources, but we are always exploring new supply options. Because of the volume of natural gas we buy, we are able to secure stable prices and provide you with the best energy value.
We buy only as much natural gas at a fixed price as we can be certain to sell during a specific time period. This ensures reliability for our group of buyers.
We have the skills and the right knowledge to buy your energy and leverage the volatile nature of the energy market to your advantage.
Will your service be reliable?
We are here for the long term and guarantee your service will be as reliable as it always was.
Who do I call if I have a service problem or emergency?
You call your local utility which still owns the pipeline and wires and is responsible for delivering your energy to your home or business.
What guarantees do you offer?
FireFly guarantees that when we quote you a price for natural gas that is the price you will pay for the length of your enrolment.
We guarantee that you will never be billed by FireFly nor will you see us knocking at your door.
We guarantee that you will continue to receive one bill from your utility the same as before.
We guarantee that your energy service will not be interrupted as a result of enrolling in one of our energy programs.
We guarantee to keep you informed and contact you when we have information that is relevant to you.
What are the financial obligations and potential additional charges?
Your obligation is to honour your contract and pay the contract price for the term of the agreement. There are no other additional charges.
Signing Up
The short answer... it gives you choice.
In the past, you did not have a choice in energy providers; your utility supplied your energy and sold you the energy you used. With deregulation, you can now choose to buy your energy from someone other than your utility. It gives you an opportunity to save money and find a better price for energy.
Deregulation does not affect your service reliability. Your gas lines and electricity wires are still maintained by your utility. Your utility will still take care of any outage or emergency.
Will my gas or electricity supply continue as before?
Yes. Enrolling in one of our energy programs will not affect the supply of your energy. Your energy supply will be as reliable as it always has been. Your current utility will still maintain the distribution lines and handle any emergencies.
Is there an enrolment fee to join your group of buyers?
No. There is no enrolment fee.
How do I know if I am already in a contract?
If you have signed a contract, you can find the name of the marketer you signed with next to your gas supply or commodity charge on your gas bill. Their contact phone number will be listed beside their name.
What do I do if I'm already in a contract?
You can contact us and let us know when your contract will expire. We will send you an “Energy Information Package” before your current contract expires. Then you can choose to renew your contract with your current supplier or switch and join our group of buyers.
Who is authorized to sign a contract with FireFly Energy?
The person named on the utility account or individuals authorized by the entity named on the utility account (for example in the case of a business) are authorized to sign a contract with FireFly Energy.
What happens when I sign a contract with FireFly Energy?
You will not notice any interruption in energy. Your current utility will continue to deliver your energy to you. Only the price you pay for this energy will change. You will continue to receive only one bill from your utility.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up online in 5 easy steps. It takes about 10 minutes, or you can download our contract and mail or fax it back to us.
How long does it take to see the benefits of joining your group?
It usually takes 8-10 weeks to complete the enrolment process.
Who will send me a bill?
Your utility will continue to send you a bill. You will not receive a separate bill from FireFly Energy.
If you move we will try to transfer your contract to your new address. Sometimes this transfer isn’t possible.
If it is possible you will continue with the same contract you had at your former address with the same deal.
If it isn’t possible than we will give you our advice and let you know your options.
Let us know as soon as possible if you are planning to move so we can work out the details for transferring your contract to your new address.
How do I renew my contract?
Our Renewal Program gives you reliable continuity and is easier and faster than signing a new contract and starting over. Before your contract expires, a Renewal Contract will be sent you. It will include all your options and choices. Simply sign it, verify the information on the contract and send it back to us.
